Selma Sebti – Hypnotherapist
Holder of a Bachelors degree in psychology from Concordia University, I worked initially in the coordination of research in psychology for the Montreal University (UDEM) at the Ste-Justine hospital.
The study of intervention increasing called to me like a vibrant echo, and I later worked in a domain which I had kept carrying in my heart since early childhood: women’s rights. As such, I worked with victims of domestic violence to increase their empowerment in their own lives. This experience helped me better understand the power of gender-based socialization and how vulnerability and violence were not a gender-based issue.
Further, I worked in the mental health field for more than 6 years in the CLSCs and hospitals of the Montreal region with a multitude of clients, acquiring experience in group facilitation and supporting stress management with those that had to live with chronic disease.
My interest is ever-growing to acquire more and more experience and knowledge in different approaches to well-being, such as in positive psychology, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral approaches and I keep an eager outlook on life’s different teachings.
